Good afternoon, I want to ask for information whether you can set up Mrs. Kris's chicken chicken franchise? mksh.?
Ok
Delicious traditional restaurant that serves sambel. My favourite here is bakwan penyet, it is made of meatballs and sambal. There are so many delicious food here. I often went here with my collage from office. The only thing that is makes us uncomfortable is that they don't have enough parking space. And when it's lunch time, it's very crowded, you will have to wait for your table to be ready. But over all, I love their foods and baverages.
Moreplease check & recheck the bills... overpaid 100.000 and we had to come back after 10km away
MoreBest penyetan in Surabaya. Love the spicy sambal. Parking space is very limited though.
MoreGood food with good pricing. Avoid going during peak hour in order to get a hold of seat.
MoreThe locals' secret - Warung Bu Kris is a fried chicken rice shop at great local prices. Non-spicy eaters fret not, there are non-spicy options. Just tell them 'kurang pedas' for less spicy or 'tak pedas' for non-spicy, they'll replace with a sweet sauce. Be ready to wait during peak hours.
MoreBest Surabayan food all round
The first Bu Kris ever where preparing 1 portion of Empal + telur + tempe takes 50 minutes! Do also note its not in busy hour. Not onlt that, waiter seems careless and forget what you ordered
MoreNice food, fair price ππ
Fresh food and price worthy
I ordered takeout cause as a solo traveller, I couldn't justify taking up a space for a place that is epicly crowded by locals. From my own experience, the speciality in this place is the Sambal (Terasi?). Fierily spicy, it goes well with the ulam (fresh vegetables) and the protein of choice (I picked chicken).Like most chickens you find in Indonesia, the chickens are probably Kampung Chicken (tiny compared to Western chickens) so take that in mind when you order.
MoreAnother culinary place in Surabaya. There are couples of Bu Kris in Surabaya, but this one is good.. Always sambal that makes it popular. The place is air conditioned, but still quite hot. Crowded like always, and you have to wait for some times for the foods to get ready. They dont accept card! So be prepared for cash.
MoreGood foods with reasonable price.
Their sambal was a perfect pair with rice. I love their babat&paru penyet
Good food. Full of peo+le at lunch time. A bit pricy.
Food was delicious, service was good. Parking can be hard to get.
I always come to this branch whenever I visit Surabaya. Don't be scared off by all the redness & sambal - there's a non-spicy version of the sambal (my relatives who don't take spicy food can accept it). If you take beef, I would recommend rawon, empal penyet, bakso (beef soup, beef strips & beef balls). There's also Ayam penyet (chicken) and terong penyet (eggplant). Of course, sambal coats each and every plate.. And if you are not that adventurous, you can ask them to have it aside. If you like sweet drinks/dessert, I would highly recommend the chendol. Bukris is rather affordable, the bill came up to around 9 usd for 3 of us.

An indonesian food restaurant that served delicious local food
Good place to eat, delicious food, specially ayam penyet
We had Bakwan Ayam Suwir Penyet (fried meatballs, shredded chicken and sambal sauce), Sambal Pencit Teri Medan (young mango and small crispy fish with Sambal) and Bakwan Ayam Penyet (fried meatballs, fried chicken and sambal sauce). It was very tasty. I asked for mine to be spicy and it actually was spicy. Very good. It came with a lemony herb, it was nice to eat the leaves with the food which gave it a nice freshness to contrast with the fishyness of the sauce.
Moreso delicious local food, recommended try
Fresh Sambals, kind and welcoming service, delicious, price is affordable as daily meal.
MoreLooking for indonesia food, they have all east java menu and full crowd if you go at lunch time
MoreFast service, good food
Always love the taste of food...
Delicious penyet. I forgot my umbrella here, and they kept it. Soo nice.
Clean, no-frills restaurant serving excellent Indonesian food. Would recommend the rice and fried chicken and oxtail soup as well.
MoreThe good chicken spicy and taste sweet cause use only local chicken. Must try it.
Morebest empal in the world
Serving varieties of local delicacies with sambal chilli as the condiment, Warung Bu Kris offers visitors with affordable pricing of Indonesian food. This place is easily recognized from the main Kayoon Street, just nearby to petrol station. Air conditioned dining is available. Payment is by cash. Parking is available at the road side. Delivery can be made by online transportation provider.
MoreMust to go place when i'm in surabaya. Love the penyetan, you can request the spiciness level and it's clean so it's great .
MoreAll east java traditional meal is reallly yummy..always visit this resto when come to surabaya
MoreLove the sambal π
easy to reach as it is close to city centre. very delicious. but be wary of long queue especially during lunch hours. avoid visiting at late evening because some items would be out of stock by then. es dawet is very recommended. a bit pricey for such cuisine but their taste is one of a kind so it is w
MoreAlways crowded, avoid peak hour for dinner and lunch, great food selection.
good taste affordable price
If u like hot food u can try it here . . They have variaty for the spicy levels
Fried crackers is a must order item on the menu. "Squished" Fried chicken with spicy sambal (ayam penyet) has a distinct "smell" that is rather pungent to some but is what makes it uniquely "Bu Kris". You should also try their mango anchovies chilli (sambal mangga teri medan) this chilli does not have the strong smell compared to their specialty dish. It might be just me, but I don't think take outs tasted as good as when I had my meal there...
MoreCan i rate it with 10stars? haha. Usually full at lunchtime. I like to come here an hour earlier like 11am. The got cheap price, delicious food, among others store this is my favorite!!!! They got more variation of menu here. But CASH ONLY
MoreNice taste, value for money, traditional food
always full. even on holidays, we must be willing to queue on weekdays.
Seating layout is too crowded although the ambience is still acceptable.
They serve a good food... But, this place just good for eat, if you want to chill out better choose another place.. but still you cannot miss this restaurant if you on Surabaya..
MoreGood choice for lunch. Beware of the que
Great spicy food but need renovation for its place and improvement for its service speed, overall its ok
Moreyou can never go wrong with this
nice penyetan, fair price, cash only
Who don't know bu kris??? He/she must be living in the cave hahaha
You can just blindly point a dish out of the menu and like it anyway. Every single dish is delicious. The rawon and the sambal korek plus es pencit are to die for. Highly recommended.
